Aerospace Research Engineer

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. What we do:

Aerospace Research Engineer initiates, proposes, leads and completes projects with several entities on UAM operation technology. This role collaborates with Policy, Regulatory, R&D, Engineering, and other multi-functional teams.

What you can do:

  • Develop and implement data analysis, statistical analysis, and optimization algorithms based on data and business/Engineering/ecosystem requirements using any technological tools as deemed vital
  • Develop, enhance, and implement predictive components within the network, and create analytical tools to provide network planning solutions
  • Lead large-scale modeling projects, identify requirements and build methodology and tools that are statistically grounded
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries, apply statistical methods to data, develop optimization and machine learning models and deliver from concept through to execution, including the software implementation in a production environment in collaboration with Autonomy software teams
  • Develop shared solutions and approaches to key UAM integration and scaling challenges through innovation and consensus-building across industry and government such as supporting development of industry consensus standards and requirements
  • Strategize with Supernal’s Policy, Regulatory and Partnership teams to advance innovative solutions through government and community acceptance
  • Initiate, propose, lead and execute projects with universities, government and new startups on various novel UAM operation technology
  • Write and publish White papers as SME
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Aviation domain expertise
  • Expertise in complex and distributed computing systems and system architecture
  • Proven experience building consensus across industry and government
  • Ability to achieve strategic goals and evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to a range of audiences
  • Ability to lead and influence teams of experts in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Experience with Machine Learning desired
  • Master's Degree or PhD preferred
