Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. We fuse research in autonomy, robotics, aviation and services to define a new category of mobility for the world’s communities. We believe in creative thinking and collaboration to help build a better mobility experience for everyone, improving people’s ability to move – whether for work or play.

What we do:

The Autonomy Computer Vision Engineer will work on the software, algorithm, and system design and implementation for the vision systems on board our vehicle. The engineer will focus on developing certifiable systems for the use of visual based perception and localization technologies for the augmentation and automation of pilot functions on board the advanced eVTOL aircraft.

What you can do:

  • Design and implement complex sensor networks, computer vision algorithms, and image processing pipelines
  • Develop software and algorithms for embedded vision systems including; detection, tracking, and classification of 2D and 3D objects and fiducials
  • Build software for image annotation, re-projection, and synthesis for multi-camera systems
  • Develop software for intrinsic/extrinsic calibration of complex multisensory systems
  • Manage data collection, training and validation for deep learning-based approaches
  • Research, build and implement processes for the certification of complex CV and ML algorithms in a safety critical system
  • Optimize algorithm performance across a wide range of development platforms and embedded systems
  • Research and evaluate potential hardware and software supplier solutions, perform trade studies and proof of concept algorithm development for academic or novel solutions
  • Other duties as assigned
