Systems Integration Engineer, Aircraft Components

What we do:

The Systems Integration Engineer, Aircraft Components serves as a part of the overall assembly and integration product team for the eVTOL vehicle. Daily responsibilities include working within the CAD product tree structure in the 3DX/CATIA V6 environment and ensuring all aircraft sub-system requirements are properly met and all hardware components are packaged efficiently within the airframe structure. This includes building of prototype and flight test vehicles as well as production flight vehicles.

What you can do:

  • Aid in Zonal management of the digital mock-up CAD for various sections of the aircraft
  • Collaborate with various engineering subject areas to design high-reliability, safety-critical systems for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft
  • Ensure all aircraft sub-system requirements are properly met and packaged efficiently within the airframe structure
  • Aid in the creation of multitude standardized processes and procedures, while collaborating with the System and Design teams throughout the design phases
  • Control space allocation for all systems
  • Create and manage Interface Control Models (ICMs) for their zone
  • Aid in managing routing envelopes for all systems
  • Ensure all systems are accessible and maintainable
  • Ensure all system separation requirements are upheld
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Up to 3 years of experience in aviation and/or automotive industries (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • CAD (CATIA V5/V6/3DX) and BOM experience
  • CAD experience with Model Based Design (MBD) and Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FT&A)
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams
  • Experience in aviation, automotive, and/or the mobility space with UAS or UAM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with project management
  • Highly collaborative and works well both independently and with a team
  • Sense of urgency, proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Interface Control Document (ICD) and Interface Control Model (ICM) documentation preferred
  • Experience with Zonal Analysis desired
  • Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) and Harness design experience preferred
  • Environmental Control Systems desired
  • Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) preferred
  • Familiarity with practical application of DO-160 desired
  • Aircraft Functional Hazard Assessment (AFHA) preferred

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:
$99,840$130,000 USD
