Sr. Autonomy Systems Engineer

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. What we do:
The Sr. Autonomy Systems Engineer is responsible for Autonomy product requirements definition and decomposition, systems design and analysis, systems integration, test, and verification. The engineer works as part of the Autonomy team to develop and mature the automation technologies that are central to the Supernal AAM vision.
What you can do:
- Use MBSE to coordinate ConOps development, requirements definition and decomposition, performing functional analysis, defining system architecture, crafting detailed Interface Control Documents (ICDs), supporting system level trade studies, participating in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration, and test
- Define system level requirements for Autonomy capabilities, end-end behavior, and applicable performance metrics
- Where appropriate, develop sub-system requirements with sufficient traceability and assist in establishing traceability workflows and tools
- Along with Aircraft level System Engineering team, codevelop relevant analyses (Eg. SOTIF, Hazard Analysis etc.) in order to develop and define requirements
- Collaboratively define, negotiate, and document interface contracts between various parts of the software architecture
- Evaluate Autonomy system failure modes, reliability, and overall safety and Develop verification and validation plans and demonstrate coverage against requirements
- Creates tools and techniques to optimize, analyze, and validate performance
- Develop and guide the DO-178C development process effort through all phases of a formal software development lifecycle
- Work with Standards organizations, regulatory bodies, and research groups to help influence the development and maturation of the AAM ecosystem and technologies
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field, or related field required
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Experience with Requirement Management Tool DOORS and MBSE Tool Rhapsody (IBM tool suite)
- Experience with model based, code generation tools (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, SCADE)
- Experience with an embedded programming language (e.g., C, C++, Rust, Ada)
- Experience with agile software development practices, highly automated systems, regulatory environments, and embedded devices
- Proficiency with Jira (Agile tool)
- Strong architectural thinker with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
- Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality
You may also be able to contribute:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
