Sr. Director of Security Policy

We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. What we do:

The Director of Security Policy will be responsible for developing a security framework to support AAM operations globally and for working with trade associations, industry, and government to develop security regulations, procedures, and industry standards. Internally, the role will collaborate with the Policy/Regulations, Legal, Compliance, ER&D, Partnerships, Commercial Strategy and Communications teams.

What you can do:

  • Act as in-house policy expert and lead the creation of a comprehensive security policy framework in collaboration with relevant cross-functional teams
  • Build relationships with federal security agencies (DHS, TSA, FBI, CISA and DOJ) and advocate for forward-leaning security framework for AAM in the US and in global markets
  • Pursue leadership roles in industry groups, trade associations and standards
  • Serve as an industry leader with vision on emerging security frameworks for the AAM industry and a resource for lawmakers, regulators and policymakers
  • Draft policy papers, legislative and regulatory proposals and represent the company at conferences and in hearings related to AAM security
  • Collaborate with other members of the Policy and Regulations Team to shape security legislation and regulations at the Federal, State and Local levels of government
  • Work closely with and share information on Supernal's aircraft, operations, and vertiports with government security partners
  • Collaborate closely with local police in target cities to educate them on AAM technology and operations and gain input on security issues and mitigations needed
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • B.A. in Political Science, International Affairs, Computer Science or another relevant field
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience working on security policy within industry, security agencies or think tanks (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Extensive experience engaging with security agencies, partners and regulators
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong advocacy skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality
  • Strong understanding of lobbying ethics and compliance rules

You may also be able to contribute:

  • J.D., PhD, or master’s degree preferred
