Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What we do:
The Sr. Manager, Sales Engineering will lead of a team of sales engineers that will serve as a liaison between Supernal’s engineering team and it’s potential customers. This position will be responsible for developing a suite of analytical frameworks, tools, and methodologies to support sales campaigns and will be a key leader of Supernal’s Strategy and Commercialization team. This role will interact regularly with product, ecosystem partnerships, and engineering teams to ensure sales campaigns get the proper attention and support they need to mature through the customer journey. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with the sales team and their customers to answer technical, performance, and environmental questions related to Supernal’s eVTOL and its expected performance in various operation environments.
What you can do:
- Develop, manage and lead a team of sales engineers globally to support the sales team and the needs of a growing customer base
- Co-create with sales and associated teams a methodology for supporting Supernal’s eVTOL performance modeling within the use case and intended route network of potential customers
- Develop analytical framework to build a concept of operations for sales campaigns that include route network modeling, fleet sizing, and assist in the development of a fleet sizing exercise
- Develop a business model with the customer that helps establish revenue, cost, and profit assumptions for an eVTOL operation using Supernal’s eVTOL
- Correctly identify the type of market and/or technical data needed to design a local value proposition sales and product positioning strategy
- Build sales tools for sales campaign requirements
- Lead the reply to RFIs and RFPs
- Develop pricing strategy with sales and finance team
- Comfortability making data-driven recommendations with incomplete information
- Ability to travel up to 30% internationally and domestically
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, contracts, aviation management or similar is required; Master’s degree, in aviation industry preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of sales experience in an engineering, product marketing or business planning with at least 8+ years of senior sales experience preferably in a comparable technology/software/aviation industry company
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a multiple-person team
- Proven sales leader with a track record of success in sales and customer development using metrics, processes, and tools to build and implement strategy, make sustainable, measurable improvements
- Comfort in using metrics, processes, and tools to build and implement strategy, make sustainable, measurable improvements
- Ability to self-manage and navigate ambiguous environments to provide clarity to customers and stakeholders
- Comfort with public speaking, both internally and externally
- Proven leadership ability to effectively manage large teams and multiple sites
- Skill and expertise in organizational management with the ability to coach leaders and staff who have the responsibility of managing diverse groups of people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
- Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, PowerPoint
- Business modeling, tool development

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
